What is O’baware?
Each O'baware is made by our hands one piece at a time. We’d invite you to experience the natural curves and the warm texture that only handmade pottery can bring. They may be slightly odd shaped and irregular, just like us, but that’s a part of the beauty. And once you appreciate such human touch, there is no comparison. We are created to simply serve in your daily lives.
firing method
Amongst different styles of firing processes we adopted, we enjoy the salt-firing the most. Colorado, with its very low humidity, is quite possibly the ideal environment for this classic firing method. This firing process produces some surface qualities, such as the beautiful pearl essence, which is unobtainable in other modes of firing.
Studio
The large windows in our studio allow plenty of the natural light to come in, and the sun seems to energize us in our creative endeavors.
Colorado
With an abundance of nature and over 300 days of sunshine, Colorado is a great place to be. Our home studio is in Boulder County, the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We appreciate the beauty of the mountain range everyday. The scenery is exceptional when the snow covers the Rockies.
Event and Activity
